Former Livermore City Attorney, Boxing Promoter: Tri-Valley Death Notices

Some of the people with ties to Pleasanton, Livermore, Dublin, San Ramon and Danville who passed away recently.

Thomas Richard Curry, 69, resident of Walnut Creek died on Oct. 12. Tom was City Attorney for the City of Piedmont and previously City Attorney for Livermore for 21 years. 

Kevin Michael Gathers, 40, resident of Pleasanton was born in Livermore and passed away in Pleasanton on Oct. 9. He attended Las Positas Community College and graduated from Cal State University at Hayward.

Louis A. Maynard86, resident of Livermore Louis Alvin Maynard was born in Chehalis, WA. He joined the Navy as a young man and saw service in WWII, Korea and on alert during the Cuban Blockade.

Vincent Perry, 44, resident of Livermore passed away unexpectedly on Oct. 12 in San Francisco, CA. He was raised in Dublin, CA and attended Foothill High School and the ITT Technical Institute.

Helen August, 7, resident of Pleasanton passed away on Oct. 9 in
San Ramon, CA. Helen loved shopping with her family and spending time with her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.

Jerry Birkhimer, 89, resident of San Ramon died on Friday, Oct. 11 with his loving wife, Gloria, by his side. In mid-1960's the long term relationship with Jack, Arwanda, Jerry and Mike Quarry led Jerry into the business of professional boxing whereas the Promoter, he staged local fights in Oakland and Richmond including most of the televised fights of the then championship heavyweight contender Jerry Quarry and light heavyweight contender Mike Quarry.

Elmina M. Coppolo, 87, resident of San Ramon passed away on Friday, Oct. 18. She enjoyed her membership in a variety of clubs, such as President of St. Felicitas Women's Club and volunteering with Hope Hospice.
