Students Mourn Loss of Teammate: 'We're Playing for Our Friend Matt Yount'

Thoughts, wishes and prayers have been posted online from all around the Bay Area, the state and in Europe as people mourn the death of 20-year-old Matthew Yount of Pleasanton. The Foothill High graduate died after jumping off the San Telmo Bridge into the river Guadalquivir in Spain on Nov. 21 after a night of drinking with friends.

Yount attended St. Raymond Catholic School in Dublin and graduated from Foothill High School in Pleasanton in 2011. The golfer was a junior at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.
