As game day approaches, here are a few ideas for snacks to enjoy that should whet your appetite while keeping your belt on the same notch:
- Veggie Tray with Hummus – Of course the easy route is to stop by Costco in Livermore and get a ready-made tray with the ranch dressing built into the tray. But if you’re feeling a little more adventurous, go to the new and pick up hummus spears (in produce near the cut carrot/celery combo), sweet potato spears (on the other side in a big bag), cut broccoli and cauliflower tops, and, finally, cherry tomatoes for a crunchy, colorful twist on the traditional veggie assortment. Bring a couple of varieties of hummus (near the deli counter) for dipping.
- Guiltless D-Eggs - A much lower-fat and heart-healthy version of a finger-food staple using a special hummus from can be found here.
- Hi-Pro/Low Fat Bean Dip This delicious, nutritious concoction will be half gone before the first quarter, I guarantee. Click here for recipe.
