PUSD Failing Special Needs Students

What does a parent in the Pleasanton Unified School District have to do to get proper accommodations for a child with disabilities?  My son was diagnosed with ADD and executive functioning disorders in 2009, when he was 11 years old.   But now it’s 2014, and I have been fighting the District for five years for his IEP eligibility.   Most recently, the District agreed to an Independent Educational Evaluation (IEE) for my son.  But now I discover that they are postponing the completion of the IEE by refusing to pay the evaluator that we agreed on and that they hired.

This might almost seem humorous, except it’s my son’s education and self-esteem that they are destroying.  From what I can see as a parent of a child with a disability, the PUSD is not serving their special education population – a crime, in my opinion.

Am now looking for the right attorney to take this matter on.  Any suggestions?
