Week in Review: Firefighter Injured, Attempted Robbery, Presidential Debate

"Unsafe" house to be cleaned up: A home in Pleasanton deemed "unsafe" to inhabit by city officials has been to prepare it for sale. In the court order, the house has been deemed a "public nuisance" and is in violation of many municipal codes along with numerous health and safety codes. Read the full story here.


Attempted robbery: Pleasanton Police are searching for two men who attempted to rob the Chase Bank at 5800 Stoneridge Mall Road. The two suspects ordered everyone to the floor, jumped the counter and tried to get cash from the cash drawers. Both suspects fled without any money. Do you recognize these men?

Firefighter injured: A Livermore Pleasanton firefighter was taken to the hospital for heat-related injuries this week during a structure fire in the kitchen of a home in the 6000 block of Corte Encinas in Pleasanton. The occupant of the home and three dogs in the home made it out safely. The firefighter has been released from the hospital.

Janet Liang Funeral: Funeral services were held for for Janet Liang, who died in September after a three year battle with leukemia. The services were held on Oct. 6 at 10 a.m. at the Pathway Community Church in Dublin and were open to the public and all who knew Janet.

Presidential debate: The first Presidential debate between President Obama and Republican nominee Mitt Romney was held on Wednesday. Patch held a debate watching party for local community leaders. Many thanks to Police/Animal Services. Next order of business is to educate residents not to allowRead More ducks to nest on their property that is not adjacent to natural waterways or canals - it may seem cute, but it's cruel when the mama duck loses babies to cats and storm drains.
