1000 Community Members Visited Fire Safety Expo

The annual event was held on Saturday at 3333 Busch Road in Pleasanton.

In honor of Fire Prevention Week, the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department held their Fire Safety Expo 2013 on Saturday at the Training Tower located at 3333 Busch Road in Pleasanton.

About 1000 members of the community attended and were able to view demonstrations that included vehicle extrication, roof ventilation from a third floor roof, vehicle firefighting, and high angle rescue. Families were able to participate in fire extinguisher drills, home fire safety and evacuation practice, a kid’s obstacle course, and handling firefighting hoses. 

Additionally, members of the Livermore and Pleasanton Police Departments were present with K9 demonstrations and to display some of their emergency response vehicles and equipment. 

Many attendees also participated in the Livermore-Pleasanton Firefighters Foundation Pancake Breakfast and Raffle, where funds were raised to support local charities as well as injured and fallen firefighters.
