$10,000 to Repair 'Inappropriate Graphic Image' Vandalism at Foothill High

The phallic vandalism was burned into the artificial turf at the school, causing significant damage.

Just hours before the highly anticipated Friday football game against Vintage High School, the students and staff at Foothill High School discovered their football field had been defaced by vandals. The artificial turf on the field was destroyed by the vandals during the early morning hours on Friday, according to Foothill High School Principal Jason Krolikowski.

Krolikowski confirms that the shape of a penis was burned into the artificial turf sometime after midnight on Sept. 20. Krolikowski says it is not known if the grass was burned chemically or incinerated.

"There had been someone on campus as late as 10 p.m. on Thursday night so the damage likely occurred after midnight on Friday," Krolikowski said. "An inappropriate graphic image was burned in to the field."

According to Krolikowski, the damage, which is estimated at about $10,000, has been reported to the police and is due to be repaired within about three to four weeks.

Krolikowski says the damage is still being investigated and "no student has yet been confirmed to be connected" to the crime.
