Police arrested Jason Landes-Caballero on Sunday afternoon on suspicion of shooting inside Redcoats Pub and Restaurant at 336 St. Mary St. shortly before 1 a.m., police said.

Arriving officers on Sunday morning learned from witnesses that a man was inside pacing and acting strange before the shooting, police said.

Witnesses heard popping sounds and saw Landes-Caballero with a silver handgun shooting into the ceiling of the main bar area, according to police.

Most of the bullets struck the ceiling however one bullet struck a bar patron in the buttocks, police said.

The victim did not notice the wound until a friend saw and he was transported to Eden Medical Center for what was considered a non life-threatening wound, police said.

Police say the suspect fled the pub on foot. Approximately 50 to 75 customers were inside the establishment at the time of the shooting.

According to a statement released by police, a search warrant was served on Landes-Caballero's home, which turned up evidence connecting him to the incident. Police are crediting the public with providing "valuable leads" that lead to the swift arrest.

Landes-Caballero, a Pleasanton resident, was arrested around 2:30 p.m. Sunday and booked into Santa Rita Jail on charges of assault with a deadly weapon, negligent discharge of a firearm and possession of methamphetamine.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call Pleasanton police at (925) 931-5100.
