The suspect was last seen running out of the ice cream shop, according to a Nixle Alert released by police.

Police officials say a man tried to rob the Baskin Robbins at 4001 Santa Rita Road in Pleasanton midday today.

According to a Nixle Alert sent out by police, at about 12:05 p.m., a man gave the employees at the ice cream shop a demand note. When the employees refused, the man ran away.

Police did not say if a weapon was seen or used during the attempted robbery.

Police say witnesses described the suspect as a white male in his mid-30s. The suspect was about 6-feet-0 and weighed between 200 to 220 pounds. The man was wearing a grey beanie cap, dark grey pea coat, blue "acid-washed" jeans and grey sunglasses with oval-shaped frames.
