Burnt Out Building-- What Happened?

Curious about the blackened building on Old Santa Rita Road? We have the answer.

If you have driven or walked past the 5900 block of Old Santa Rita Road and noticed a smoky smell, you are not alone. Residents in town have been wondering about the charred building.

According to Battalion Chief Joe Testa of the Livermore Pleasanton Fire Department, the burnt building is what remains after a

Testa wrote:

"All on duty personnel trained there, so 33 each day to a total of 99 plus the assistance of Explorers and Reserves. There was also a Battalion Chief there each day for training and oversight. The building was an office for a vehicle salvage yard that was formerly located there. East Bay BMW purchased the land and will be expanding their operation and tearing down the building that we used in the process, thus we were able to utilize it for this training."
