CHP Motor Officer Injured After Being Hit by Car
The officer suffered minor injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital, according to a spokesperson for the California Highway Patrol.

A California Highway Patrol officer was injured Monday when he was hit by a car on Interstate Highway 580 in Pleasanton, according to the CHP.
The officer was driving east on I-580 near the exit for Foothill and San Ramon roads at 3:43 p.m. when the crash happened, CHP Officer Steve Creel said.
A 26-year-old man from Pleasanton driving a 2003 BMW at about 30-35 mph suddenly changed lanes as traffic slowed, hitting the officer with his right door.
The motorcyclist, a 9-year veteran of the CHP working out of the Castro Valley office, was thrown to the ground.
The 38-year-old officer was rushed to a hospital but suffered only minor injuries, such as scrapes and bruises.
The driver of the BMW stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators. He had not been cited for the collision as of Monday afternoon, Creel said.
The CHP is continuing to investigate the collision.
