A recreation supervisor for the City of Pleasanton was arrested Thursday on suspicion of theft and unlawful computer access, according to the Pleasanton Police Department.
Officers said Ian Anderson unlawfully accessed a city computer database and stole approximately $300 worth of services for his personal benefit.
The police department was tipped to Anderson's action by another City of Pleasanton employee, who noticed Anderson was deviating from normal accounting procedures when enrolling his own children in a recreation program.
Anderson surrendered to Pleasanton police detectives Thursday, and is charged with one count of unlawful computer access, a felony and one count of embezzlement by a public employee. He was booked into Santa Rita Jail.
