Danville Man Arrested on Suspicion of Attempted Murder in Pleasanton Pharmacy Stabbing

Police said the Nov. 22 stabbing involved an ex-employee and his pharmacy boss.

Police arrested a 27-year-old Danville man eight days ago on suspicion of trying to kill his former boss by stabbing him in the neck inside a Pleasanton pharmacy.

Benjamin Glover, 27, is accused of trying to kill Henry Ho on Nov. 22 inside on Santa Rita Road.

Sgt. Kurt Schlehuber said in a statement released today that on Nov. 7, Ho, a pharmacist and owner of Medicap, called the to report that he was attacked by Glover. He told police that on Nov. 5, Glover walked into the pharmacy wearing a hoodie pulled over his head and a medical surgeon’s mask over his face.

According to police, he walked up to the counter, asked Ho if he recognized him and then he took off his mask. Although Ho told police he felt this behavior was suspicious, he said he was comfortable with Glover because Glover had worked for him for four years until he was terminated a year ago.

Police said Glover asked to talk with Ho, so Ho invited him back to the pharmacy office.

They talked for five minutes, and then according to police, Glover stabbed Ho in the neck with a knife, "or other small cutting instrument."

"It was only by Ho’s quick reflexes and martial arts training that he was able to fend off the attack," Schlehuber said in the statement.

After Ho deflected Glover’s first attack, Glover allegedly stood over Ho and attempted to stab him two more times. Glover told police that he ran out of the pharmacy.

Ho suffered a 5-inch cut to his neck.

After police finished the investigation, a warrant was sought for Glover and he was arrested at his home in Danville. Glover was booked at Santa Rita Jail where he remains in custody.

The Alameda County District Attorney charged Glover with attempted murder.

The notification of this arrest was delayed due to the sensitive and complex nature of the investigation, police said.

Anyone with information that may aid in the ongoing investigation is urged to contact the Pleasanton Police Department at 925-931-5100.
