Driver Involved in Fatal Bicycle Collision Arrested
Cody Hall, 18, has been charged with two felonies, including vehicular manslaughter and reckless driving for the June 9 collision on Foothill Road in Pleasanton.
Pleasanton Police arrested 18-year-old Cody Matthew Hall of Pleasanton Friday in connection with the June 9 bicycle collision that killed Diana Hersevoort, 58, of Dublin.
According to statement issued by police, Hall surrendered to detectives at the Pleasanton Police Department this evening. Police say Hall has been charged with one count of 192 (C) (1) of the California Penal Code (Vehicular Manslaughter-Felony) and one count of 23103 (A) of the California Vehicle Code (Reckless Driving-Felony) and that Hall was booked into the Santa Rita Jail in Dublin.
Hersevoort and her husband, Joe Hersevoort, were hit by Hall as they rode their bicycles on Foothill Road about a quarter mile south of Golden Eagle Way. Joe Hersevoort was not seriously injured.
Hall's father, Aaron Hall, a twice convicted felon, was arrested on several felony counts on July 11 after police discovered two illegal assault rifles and thousands of rounds of ammunition during the execution of a search warrant related to his son's collision.
