The family of 58-year-old Diana Hersevoort, who was killed on June 9 after being hit by an 18-year-old driver from Pleasanton while riding her bicycle along Foothill Road south of Golden Eagle Way, have hired lawyer Peter Rausch to represent them in a civil lawsuit.

Rausch, from the Law Offices of A. Peter Rausch, says he is representing the Hersevoort family in connection with the fatal collision that killed Hersevoort and the impending civil claim against driver Cody Hall.

According to Rausch, he has spoken with Pleasanton Police investigators, along with the Alameda County District Attorney handling the case and is now waiting for the police and coroner's report, which he says he expects any day.

"We are attempting to locate Cody Hall and his parents and are preparing to make contact with them and the attorney representing Hall," Rausch said, adding that his office also would like to speak with witnesses to the crash.

Hall has not yet been arrested by police.

In an earlier report on June 18, Sgt. Robert Leong told Patch, "When the report has been completed we will be forwarding it to the DA for review and charging."
