UPDATE: FBI Fugitive in 2003 Hacienda Business Park Bombing Believed to Be in Massachusetts

Suspect accused of setting off bombs with nails attached at Shaklee and at a bio tech business in Emeryville may have been spotted following an episode of "America's Most Wanted."

Correction: An earlier version of this story incorrectly reported San Diego has been arrested.

Authorities said Wednesday they may be closing in on finding a fugitive on the FBI's Most Wanted list sought in connnection with the 2003 bombings of the building in the Hacienda Business Park and a biotechnology corporation office in Emeryville.

Daniel Andreas San Diego, 33, a member of animal rights extremist groups and Berkeley native, was reportedly spotted in western Massachusetts, according to news reports.

San Diego faces federal charges in an Aug. 28, 2003 bombing at Chiron in Emeryville and in a Sept. 26, 2003 early morning explosion near the entrance of Shaklee. No one was injured in either incident.

After the Pleasanton explosion of a device packed with nails, numerous buildings around Shaklee's Willow Road complex were evacuated for several hours, and employees trying to get to work had to be escorted by police into their offices.

According to a report by ABC TV, San Diego was identified following an episode of "America's Most Wanted."

There is a $250,000 reward for information leading to his arrest.

Patch will update this story when further details are available.

Many thanks to Police/Animal Services. Next order of business is to educate residents not to allowRead More ducks to nest on their property that is not adjacent to natural waterways or canals - it may seem cute, but it's cruel when the mama duck loses babies to cats and storm drains.
