Felony Hit-and-Run Suspect Due in Court Tuesday for Arraignment

Spencer Freeman Smith is expected to be charged with vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence and felony hit-and-run on Tuesday.

The San Ramon man in connection with the  is scheduled to make his first court apperance on Tuesday.

Spencer Freeman Smith, 32, an employment lawyer in San Francisco, is set to be arraigned at the  in Pleasanton on charges of vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence and felony hit-and-run. The hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m.

While serving a search warrant at Smith's San Ramon home Thursday night, Dublin police found a black  with damage to the windshield and front end. The car was missing the same parts that were found at the scene of the accident, according to officers.

The victim, Bo Hu, 57, was believed to have been visiting Dublin from China when he was  while riding or walking his bicycle on Dougherty Road at Fall Creek Road around 11:30 p.m.

A private funeral for Hu was held at  in Dubin on Monday.

Does anyone know what sort of sentence he will face if ever convicted which given that they recovered the car seems somewhat likely. Is it prison time type of situation or probation and slap on the hand? So vet sad for the victim's family. I hope for their sake the justice system works.
