Fight at Amador Valley High School Results in Battery Arrest

Police officers were called to Amador Valley High School campus yesterday due to a fight involving at least five male juveniles.

Police arrested a male juvenile at Amador Valley High School yesterday for felony battery after striking another teen with an object during a fight.

Officers were called to the campus yesterday at around 3:15, after school ended.

Sergeant Mike Tryphonas said about five or six juveniles were involved. He said the injury resulting from the fight was slight and there was no need to go to the hospital.

Students involved were from Amador Valley High School and Village High School, the district's alternative school.

The incident is still under investigation, according to Tryphonas. When asked whether it was gang-related, Tryphonas said that he couldn't say definitively if that was the case.
