Fight Leads to Stabbing at Redcoats Pub Parking Lot

The victim sustained a non-life threatening Injury during the altercation.

From Bay City News:

A man was stabbed in a fight at a Pleasanton bar early Saturday
morning, according to police.

A short time after 12:30 a.m. Saturday, officers responded to a report of a fight in the parking lot of the Redcoats Pub at 336 St. Mary's St., but were unable to locate a victim, police said.

About 8:10 a.m., a man with a stab wound to the back arrived at the emergency room at ValleyCare Medical Center in Pleasanton saying that he had been in a fight the previous night and had been stabbed.

The man was treated for a minor stab wound and released.

Police said the victim reported that he went to pick up his girlfriend from the Redcoats Pub after she told him a man at the bar was harassing her.

The victim arrived in the back of the bar and got into an altercation with the suspect, who then pulled out a knife and stabbed him once in the back, according to police.

The suspect fled the area and has not been located.

Police are investigating the episode, which they believe is an isolated incident.

Anyone with additional information about this incident may call Pleasanton police at (925) 931-5100.

Did the suspect pay with a credit card? That is an easy way to track him down. Go Pleasanton police. Secondly, why was she out without her boyfriend? Nothing good happens after 12:30 AM!

Who goes to Redcoats anyway? You might want to look in the mirror if that's your evening entertainment. Maybe think about moving to Roseville.

"Nothing good ever happens after 12:30am". Well, not at Red Coats that is for sure. That place consistently draws the wrong crowd into downtown Pleasanton on Friday and Saturday nights. A few years ago the city banned bands at that location, but continued to allow the owners to turn the place into a "club" at night with a DJ and the boom boom tunes. The Pleasanton Downtown Association needs to take a walk down 1st street in Livermore sometime. It's not perfect, but they're busy busy down there at night - and without drawing the clubber crowd.

Redcoats is misspelled in this article several times. The writer of the article really should have done a Google search. If the writer had, the writer would have discovered that Redcoats is one word and not two.

Good point, Dublin. I did it too - and I know better.

What did this barfly look like that two guys were fighting over?

I know this is a generalization BUT I have dealt with crowds and security for many years, and among the now18 to the 25 years old, about 40% of them are rationale, happy, respectful, considerate and mature in their thinking, behavior and actions of consequence. These are the lucky and mentored well, by parents, teachers and good friends. So we should know that we have about a 60% problem which needs fixing.
