Fire, Police and Residents Gather for 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony

The ceremony was held at Livermore Pleasanton Fire Station One

The sorrowful sound of bag pipes and the tolling of the bell could be heard in Pleasanton this morning as residents, city, police and fire officials from Livermore and Pleasanton gathered at Livermore Pleasanton Fire Station One to honor the memories of the emergency responders who perished during the attacks on the World Trade Center towers on September 11, 2001.

After a short flag ceremony and speeches from fire dignitaries, the firehouse bell rang three rings, three times as bag pipes played to close out the somber ceremony.

341 fire personnel, along with paramedics and police officers were among the 2,977 Americans who lost their lives on that day. Patriot Day remembers the sacrifice made by those emergency responders.
