Schoop previously served a year in prison in 2003 after being convicted of possessing child porn on his computer, which he claimed was accidentally downloaded.

The investigation in that previous case began after a man in 2001 claimed he was molested by Schoop from 1967 to 1971,according to the Fremont Argus. The molestation charges were dropped in a plea deal in which he accepted responsibility for possessing the child porn.

SFGate reports that Schoop agreed to register as a sex offender and was stripped of his teaching credential.

Schoop is being held in lieu of $410,000 bail. A motion to reduce the bail amount was rejected Tuesday.

He is scheduled to return to appear at the Wiley Manuel Courthouse in Oakland on June 26 for a pretrial hearing, according to online court records.
