Fundraisers for Murder Victim's Children

Money is being raised for the children of former Tri-Valley resident Amber Seymore, who was killed in a murder-suicide by her husband in North Carolina.

Shannon Womack, owner of Tyler Day Salon in Holly Springs in North Carolina, has been raising money for the three children of Amber and Robert Seymore, who died in a murder suicide in December of 2012.

Amber, who lived previously in the Tri-Valley, was murdered on Dec. 3 by her husband, former BART officer, Robert Seymore, before he turned the gun on himself. The children, who are now being cared for by Amber's brother and wife, David and Shelly Harris, were 2, 6 and 8 when their parents died.

According to Southwest Wake News, Womack hosted a cut-a-thon at her salon on April 28 to help raise money for the children, who now live in Tennessee.

Womack is not the only Holly Springs local helping to raise money for Robert, Alexandra and Abigail. Tammie Sellman, who was a neighbor of the Seymore's has also been raising funds for the children by helping with other local fundraisers including All Aboard Pizza, where she works.

The Seymores, both 38, who lived in Holly Springs, North Carolina, after relocating from the Tri-Valley, were found dead by Amber Seymore's mother.

Amber graduated from Danville's Monte Vista High School, worked in Pleasanton and had many family members in the area. Amber's brother, David Harris, says the couple lived in Livermore and had attended Cornerstone Church.

A family friend said the couple had been having problems and had moved to North Carolina for a fresh start. David Harris, the brother of murder victim Amber Harris Seymore, says her husband, Robert Seymore, had a temper.

Friends and family set up a fund for family Amber Seymore's name. Those who wish to donate can go to any Wells Fargo in the United States.
