Hazardous Spill Closes Stanley Boulevard

Lanes are expected to reopen at 6 p.m.

PG&E contacted the Pleasanton Police Department regarding a possible hazardous material spill on Stanley Blvd. at Valley Ave. 

Officers responded for traffic control at 11:59am and discovered that a crane dropped a transformer in the roadway spilling an unknown liquid. 

PG&E later confirmed the liquid was a known hazardous material, Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCB).

East bound lanes of traffic on Stanley Blvd. towards Livermore were shut down at Bernal Ave.

The fluid was contained in the southeast corner of the intersection. Cleanup and all lanes of travel are expected to be open at approximately 6 p.m.

No injuries occurred as a result of the spill and subsequent clean up.
