Hero's Farewell for Fire Captain Paul Chenkovich

The community says goodbye to Captain Paul Chenkovich.


Hundreds of people, including local dignitaries, fire and law enforcement personnel and students from nearby schools, lined the funeral procession route yesterday morning to honor Livermore Pleasanton Fire Captain Paul Chenkovich as his casket was taken to the St. Augustine Church in Pleasanton.

Line of Duty Death Memorial Services were held at the church for 48-year-old Chenkovich, who died the morning of Nov. 5 after a three year battle with job-related brain cancer.

Chenkovich is survived by his wife and two children.
