I-680 Reopened After CHP Issues Sig-Alert for Late Night Crash

The collision occurred on northbound I-680, north of the I-580 connector ramp.

All lanes of Interstate Highway 680 in Pleasanton have reopened after a multiple-car accident blocked part of the roadway for about an hour, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The accident, involving at least three cars, was reported at about 11:10 p.m. Friday on northbound Highway 680, just north of the Interstate Highway 580 connector ramp, the CHP said.

The CHP said about 200 feet of guardrail was damaged, as well as a downed light pole, as a result of the accident. A Sig-alert was issued at 11:40 p.m. when the CHP closed the two right lanes. The lanes reopened about a half hour later just after 12:05 a.m.

Further details about the crash were not immediately available.
