Investigation into Fatal Collision Continues

Police are waiting for test results and the autopsy report.

Collision investigators are still waiting for the results of driver's toxicology tests, along with the autopsy report of the Dublin bicyclist struck and killed while riding her bike on Foothill Road in Pleasanton, Sergeant Robert Leong said.

Diana Hersevoort, 58, was hit while on her weekly bicycle ride with her husband, Joe Hersevooort, on June 9 around 1 p.m. Hersevooort was also hit and injured during the collision that killed his wife. The couple had been married 35 years, according to Heather Grimm, the couple's daughter.

"We are assessing the case with the District Attorney's office," Leong said. "When the report has been completed we will be forwarding it to the DA for review and charging."

The 18-year-old driver, Cody Hall of Pleasanton, has not yet been charged with a crime. Months before the collision Hall used social media to talk about speeding. Read the full story here.

A celebration of Hersevoort's life is being held at 11 a.m. on June 23 at the Heritage Park in Dublin.
