iPad Robber Threatens Verizon Employees with Pepper Spray

The lone suspect was last seen this morning running toward the Hilton Hotel on Johnson Drive, according to police.

man used pepper spray to threaten employees when he was confronted for grabbing Apple iPads and cellular phones at the Verizon Wireless store in Pleasanton, police say.

According to a statement released by police, just after 11 a.m. today, a man entered the Verizon Wireless store on 6070 Johnson Drive and took several iPads and cellular phones from their displays.

Police say the man threatened the store employees with pepper spray when he was confronted and he fled on foot. He was last seen running toward the Hilton Hotel on Johnson Drive. 

Police describe the suspect as a black male, around 25-years-old. He was reported to be 5-foot-11-inches, with a medium build and was wearing "a black hooded sweatshirt with a light blue shirt underneath, dark pants, and a light blue baseball cap."

In a Nixle Alert released earlier by police, they ask that you call Pleasanton Police immediately at 925-931-5100 if you see the suspect or if you have any additional information to provide.
