Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department to Host 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony

The event is scheduled for 9:45 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 11.

and will honor the 10th Sept. 11, anniversary with a brief ceremony hosted on Sunday.

The event, which is open to the public, will be held at the flagpole outside of Fire Station Number One at 3560 Nevada Street in Pleasanton, beginning at 9:45 a.m.

The purpose of the event is to honor the victims of Sept. 11, their families, first responders, and all military engaged since that crisis.

Both departments will also have a special presentation to honor , a military medic and Pleasanton resident who was killed in Afghanistan earlier this year.

In addition to the special presentation, the agenda includes some brief comments from both the fire chief and the chief of police, and the ceremonial ringing of the bell in memory of those who died in the line of duty, and the traditional playing of bagpipes.
