Man Tries to Evade Sheriff Deputies, Crashes Into a Tree in Pleasanton

The man who reportedly crashed Wednesday at the intersection of West Las Positas Boulevard and Hacienda Drive was being questioned in a prostitution sting.

A man being questioned in a prostitution sting fled from Alameda County Sheriff deputies and crashed into a tree in Pleasanton Wednesday night, according to Sgt. J.D. Nelson, a spokesperson for the Alameda County  Sheriff's Office.

The report said undercover deputies were questioning people in an SUV at a Castro Valley hotel when one passenger got into the driver's seat and took off while there were still others in the vehicle.

The man, who was determined by sheriff deputies to be a parolee at large, headed east on I-580 towards Pleasanton.

At about 7:50 p.m., there was report of traffic collision  in Pleasanton at the intersection of West Las Positas Boulevard and Hacienda Drive.

According to Nelson, the man and two other passengers in the car sustained injuries and were taken to a hospital in Castro Valley.
