Oakland Man Arrested on Suspicion of Prowling and Theft

Christopher Yorrie, 40, was arrested after police found him hiding the bushes during the early hours of the morning.

Pleasanton Police arrested a 40-year-old Oakland man for allegedly stealing property from unlocked cars during the early morning hours this morning.

Police sayΒ Christopher Yorrie was arrested after he was found hiding in some bushes near the intersection of Hansen Drive and Camino Brazos.

According to a statement released by police, a resident on Camino Brazos reported seeing a person removing property from inside of his parked car around 3:45 a.m.

After setting up a perimeter, Yorrie was found a short time later, with stolen items in his possession.

Police believe Yorrie took property from several unlocked cars in multiple locations including the 5400 block of Ridgevale Road, the 2200 block of Fairfield Road and the 2100 block of Camino Brazos, where he was found.

Yorrie was arrested on suspicion of possessing stolen property and prowling. He was booked into the Santa Rita Jail in Dublin.

Police officialsΒ are crediting the vigilant citizen for quickly alerting police to the suspicious activity saying, "The capture of this suspect was due to a proactive resident’s keen observations and his immediate reporting of suspicious activity to police. The Pleasanton Police Department encourages citizens to help reduce crime by immediately reporting suspicious behavior."
