The Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department (LPFD) joins the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) in recognizing Fire Prevention Week from October 6-12. In observance of this important week, LPFD will host a free Fire Safety Expo on Saturday, October 12, 2013.

The event will be held at the Fire Training Tower located at 3301 Busch Road in Pleasanton from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

This year’s Fire Prevention message is “Prevent Kitchen Fires”.  According to the NFPA, two out of every five home fires start in the kitchen. Cooking is the leading cause of home fires and unattended cooking is a factor in 34 percent of reported home cooking fires.
