A pedestrian that was has checked out of the hospital he was airlifted to, Sgt. John Hurd said.

The accident was reported around 9 a.m. at the intersection of Industrial Way and Vasco Road. Witnesses told police they saw a man walking in a crosswalk with the crossing signal on when he was struck by a Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck.

The driver of the truck was traveling west on Industrial Way and turning on South Vasco Road when the accident occurred. The 51-year-old man did not see the pedestrian, Hurd said.

"This is definitely a reminder to treat crosswalks and intersections like yield signs," Hurd said. "Drivers need to pay attention in these intersections and really look out for pedestrians."
