Bay City News — A Pleasanton man was found dead after he drove his truck off the road into a fence in Dublin Saturday evening, but it's unknown whether the crash is what killed him.
The 55-year-old man, who has not yet been identified by the Alameda County coroner's bureau, was driving his 2004 Toyota pickup truck south on Tassajara Road approaching the Alameda County line at about 5:40 p.m., CHP officers said.
According to a witness, the truck drove off the edge of the east side of the roadway into a dirt field, swerved back onto and across Tassajara Road, and drove off the west roadway edge, crashing through a barbed wire fence before stopping in a field, according to the CHP.
When officers arrived, the man was unresponsive. They administered CPR until paramedics from the San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District arrived and took the man to ValleyCare Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.
Investigators are considering whether a medical problem might be involved because the truck did not sustain much damage.
