Pleasanton Police Looking for Two Robbery Suspects

Police say two robbers approached the victim, who was out for a walk, in a vehicle. One of the robbers demanded the victim's wallet and said he had a gun.

The Pleasanton Police Department is looking for two male suspects for a robbery that occurred last night at the 3200 block of Vineyard Ave.

The police department received a call from the victim, an adult male, at 11:30 p.m.

Police said a vehicle described as an early 1990 dark-color, two-door, compact car approached the victim. The victim is a resident of the neighborhood and was out for a walk.

Two males were inside the car and they asked the victim for directions. The man in the passenger seat then demanded the victim's wallet saying he had a gun.

The victim complied and gave his wallet with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The victim described the vehicle to police as a possible Toyota Camry or Honda Accord.  He also said the car had a loud exhaust.

The man in the passenger seat is described as a white male, between the ages of 25 to 35 years old, unshaven, had a beer-belly and wore a dark-blue beanie style cap with an orange stripe.

The driver was also described as a white male.

Detective Eric Fredgren said the victim wasn't hurt and no gun was seen.

"This is extremely rare, especially a street robbery like this," said Fredgren.

If anyone has information that would be helpful to the investigation please contact the Pleasanton Police Department at 925-931-5100 or you can contact Detective Eric Fredgren directly at 925-931-5141.
