Pleasanton Woman Hurt in Crash on I580 in Castro Valley

Two drivers involved in Saturday afternoon collision, CHP says.

A Pleasanton woman was injured Saturday in a two-car crash on Interstate Highway 580 in Castro Valley, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The collision was reported just before 2 p.m. Saturday on eastbound Highway 580 west of Lake Chabot Regional Park.

A 27-year-old Oakland woman was driving a Chrysler Sebring when for unknown reasons her car car veered to the left, crossing over into the left-hand lane and crashing into a Jeep Cherokee, the CHP said.

Both cars continued heading northeast until they crashed into the roadway's concrete divider wall, officers said.

CHP officers found the 27-year-old woman unconscious and the other driver, a 55-year-old Pleasanton woman, suffering from moderate facial injuries and pain to her face, chest and ribs.

Both were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.

The crash remains under investigation.
