Police and Fire Beat: Salon Burglarized; Firefighters Respond to Faulty Fan, Stove Fires

A list of notable incidents from Sept. 27 to Oct. 4.

Last week, a burglary was reported at Radiance Hair Salon but nothing was found stolen. Police also made arrests related to domestic disputes. The Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department responded to several incidents in homes this past week, extinguishing fires that originated in stoves and from an attic fan.  Also, a fight-related disturbance was reported at Foothill High School on Friday. We will update that story when more information is available.

Monday, Oct. 4

  • Stove Fire: A fire originating in a kitchen stove was reported on Cranwood Court at 4:08 p.m.  A stove with plastic items inside was accidentally turned on and the ensuing flame spread to a wiring box.  Firefighters were able to contain the blaze before it spread to the home's attic and cabinets, and the homeowner was able to return to the residence.

 Sunday, Oct. 3

  • Vandalism was reported on the 3400 block of Cornerstone Court at 8:29 a.m.
  • Vandalism was reported on the 2300 block of Romano Circle at 9:37 a.m.
  • A woman was arrested at the intersection of Foothill Road and Laurel Creek Way on a charge of driving under the influence at 6:35 p.m.
  • Two men were arrested on the 3800 block of Vineyard Avenue on suspicion of public intoxication at 7:30 p.m.

Saturday, Oct. 2

  • A trash can reportedly was on fire at the intersection of Santa Rita Road and Valley Avenue at 12:39 a.m.
  • A man was arrested on charges of public intoxication and making threats on the 1800 block of Santa Rita Road at 1:35 a.m.
  • A man was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting on the 1500 block of Stoneridge mall at 4:24 p.m.
  • A burglary was reported on the 3600 block of South Platt Court at 6:02 p.m.

Friday, Oct. 1

  • A 36-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence at 1:03 a.m.
  • Foothill High Fight: According to reports, a school resource officer made a call to police about a fight-related disturbance in the afternoon.  Pleasanton Patch will update this story as more information becomes available.
  • A burglary was reported on the 1500 block of Loganberry Way at 3:11 p.m.
  • A traffic collision was reported at the intersection of Santa Rita Road and Lockhart Lane at 5:01 p.m.
  • A traffic collision was reported at the intersection of Meadowlark Drive and Bernal Avenue at 9:07 p.m.
  • Drug activity was reported at the intersection of Trevor Parkway and Persimmon Way at 10:43 p.m.

Thursday, Sept. 30

  • A 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence at 12:24 a.m.
  • A 27-year-old man was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence at 2:25 a.m.
  • A 20-year-old man was arrested on a battery charge at 2:28 a.m.
  • A fire was reported at a home on the 4100 block of Lethram Court at 6:39 p.m. Smoke was seen coming out of the attic, and firefighters contained the fire within 30 minutes. An attic fan reportedly was the source of the fire.

Wednesday, Sept. 29

  • Vandalism was reported on the 7000 block of Johnson Drive at 1:12 p.m.
  • Petty theft was reported on the 1300 block of Stoneridge Mall Road at 5:19 p.m.
  • A burglary was reported on the 5600 block of Springhouse Drive at 10:24 p.m.

Tuesday, Sept. 28

  • A 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication at 4:35 a.m.
  • A 20-year-old woman was arrested on a court-ordered warrant at 6:38 a.m.
  • A stove fire was reported at a home on the 4200 block of Payne Road at 9:09 a.m. Firefighters contained the fire within 30 minutes, which they believe was caused by wiring issues.
  • A burglary was reported on the 500 block of Main Street at 9:59 a.m.
  • A traffic collision was reported at the intersection of Valley Avenue and Stanley Boulevard at 11:47 a.m.

Monday, Sept. 27

  • A 32-year-old woman was arrested on charges of domestic violence and brandishing a weapon at 12:36 a.m.
  • A 48-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of battery at 1:39 a.m.
  • Hair Salon Burglarized: A burglary was reported at Radiance Hair Salon on the 5500 block of Springdale Avenue at 9:41 a.m.  Owners returned after the weekend to find the front door lock broken.  Nothing was reported stolen.
  • A 48-year-old man was arrested on a charge of battery at 5:07 p.m.
  • A vehicle was reported on fire at the intersection of Santa Rita Road and Stoneridge Drive at 9:52 p.m. Firefighters contained the fire within an hour.
