Police and Fire Logs: Ammo Gone in Car Burglary, Others Occur Throughout Week

A list of notable incidents from Oct. 24 to Oct. 31.

Pleasanton Police dealt with several reports of car burglaries throughout the week, including one on Thursday in which more than $1,700 in items were stolen from the vehicle. 

Hundreds of rounds of ammunition were among the stolen items. Also, three car burglaries were reported on a single block of Owens Drive in the early morning hours of Monday. Friday also saw several more reports of car burglaries.

Monday, Oct. 24

  • Three vehicular burglaries were reported on the 5600 block of Owens Drive at between 1:40 a.m. and 2:01 a.m.
  • Vandalism was reported on the 7300 block of Tulipwood Circle at 11:55 a.m.
  • Petty theft was reported on the 2300 block of Stoneridge Mall Road at 12:53 p.m.

Tuesday, Oct. 25

  • A 44-year-old man was arrested at 2:21 a.m. on suspicion of driving under the influence.
  • Theft was reported on the 5000 block of Hopyard Road at 2:35 p.m.
  • Petty theft was reported on the 3200 block of Stanley Boulevard at 2:20 p.m.
  • Shoplifting was reported on the 4500 block of Rosewood Drive at 6:07 p.m.

Wednesday, Oct. 26

  • A tree was reportedly on fire in a lot at the intersection of Valley Avenue and Hopyard Road at 7:28 a.m.
  • Residential burglary was reported on the 300 block of Briggs Court at 10:40 a.m.
  • Vehicular burglary was reported on the 5500 block of Corte Sonora at 10:54 a.m.
  • A traffic collision was reported at the intersection of Hacienda Drive and Gibraltar Drive at 5:10 p.m.
  • Vandalism was reported on the 4500 block of Rosewood Drive at 7:03 p.m.
  • A 33-year-old man was arrested at 7:42 p.m. on suspicion of public intoxication.

Thursday, Oct. 27

  • A traffic collision was reported on the 3900 block of Valley Avenue at 7:23 a.m.
  • A traffic collision involving a bicyclist was reported at the intersection of Kottinger Drive and Second Street at 8:03 a.m.
  • A traffic collision was reported on I-680 northbound near Stoneridge Drive at 8:39 a.m.
  • Ammo Gone in Car Burglary: Vehicular burglary was reported on the 5600 block of Owens Drive at 8:12 p.m. More than $1,700 items were reported stolen, including an MP3 player, cigar lighter, pair of men’s Versace sunglasses and hundreds of rounds of firearm ammunition.

Friday, Oct. 28

  • A 23-year-old man was arrested at 2:29 a.m. on suspicion of driving under the influence.
  • Vehicular burglary was reported on the 1400 block of Whispering Oaks Way at 7:05 a.m.
  • Vehicular burglary was reported on the 5900 block of Drive at 7:40 a.m.
  • Vehicular burglary was reported on the 4100 block of Amberwood Circle at 9:25 a.m. A car window was reportedly smashed.
  • Burglary was reported on the 400 block of St. John Street at 10:39 a.m.
  • A traffic collision as reported on the 4400 block of Stoneridge Drive at 3:08 p.m.
  • A 23-year-old woman was arrested at 6:25 p.m. on suspicion of petty theft and possession of a controlled substance.

Saturday, Oct. 29

  • A traffic collision involving a vehicle striking a barrier was reported on I-580 westbound near Hopyard Road at 11:20 a.m.
  • A vehicle fire was reported at the merge of I-580 eastbound and I-680 southbound at 5:24 p.m.

Sunday, Oct. 30

  • A 23-year-old woman was arrested at 12:24 a.m. on suspicion of public intoxication.
  • A 21-year-old man was arrested at 3:57 a.m. on suspicion of public intoxication.
  • A trailer of hay pulled by a truck was reportedly smoldering on I-580 westbound near Tassajara Road at 3:34 p.m.
