Police and Fire Logs: Burglary Hits Home; Traffic Crashes Abound

A list of notable incidents from Sept. 5 to Sept. 11.

Pleasanton had several burglaries last Tuesday, including the residential burglary of a Torlano Court home in which jewelry worth thousands of dollars worth was stolen. 

Two car burglaries were also reported that day. Incidents of petty theft were reported throughout the week on Stoneridge Mall Road, including two on Saturday.

The end of Labor Day weekend also saw more traffic collisions than usual, including several on Monday on nearby freeways, one of which involved an overturned vehicle.  Several traffic collisions throughout the week occurred at merges of I-680 and I-580.

Sunday, Sept. 11

  • A 41-year-old man was arrested at 12:03 a.m. on suspicion of domestic violence.
  • Publix intoxication was reported at the intersection of Hopyard Road and Parkside Drive at 12:22 a.m.
  • A 26-year-old man was arrested at 12:17 a.m. on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Saturday, Sept. 10

  • A 23-year-old man was arrested at 2:06 a.m. on suspicion of driving under the influence.
  • A 25-year-old man was arrested at 2:20 a.m. on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance.
  • A 52-year-old man was arrested at 8:35 a.m. on a warrant.
  • Petty theft was reported on the 1300 block of Stoneridge Mall Road at 2:46 p.m.
  • Petty theft was reported on the 5300 block of Stoneridge Mall Road at 6:21 p.m.

Friday, Sept. 9

  • A 27-year-old woman was arrested at 1:21 a.m. on suspicion of public intoxication.
  • A traffic collision involving a bicyclist was reported at the intersection of Santa Rita Road and Old Santa Rita Road at 9:59 a.m. The bicyclist was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
  • A traffic collision involving several vehicles was reported at the intersection of Foothill Road and Dublin Canyon Road at 3:53 p.m.
  • A traffic collision involving a big rig was reported on I-680 southbound near Bernal Avenue at 4:19 p.m.
  • A 31-year-old man was arrested at 7:18 p.m. on suspicion of public intoxication.
  • A traffic collision involving a motorcycle was reported on I-580 northbound near Stoneridge Drive at 8:23 p.m.

Thursday, Sept. 8

  • Smoke was reported coming from a bedroom in a home on the 3000 block of Staples Ranch Drive at 12:02 p.m. The source was an electrical cord.
  • A fire was reported in the center divide at the intersection of Foothill Road and Stoneridge Drive at 4:02 p.m.

Wednesday, Sept. 7

  • A traffic collision involving a vehicle striking a tree was reported at Denny’s on the 6400 block of Owens Drive at 12:23 a.m.
  • Vandalism was reported at the intersection of Bernal Avenue and Tawny Drive at 7:06 a.m.
  • Petty theft was reported on the 1100 block of Stoneridge Mall Road at 9:33 a.m.
  • A traffic collision involving an overturned vehicle was reported on I-580 westbound near Hacienda Drive at 4:03 p.m.

Tuesday, Sept. 6

  • Vehicular burglary was reported on the 3800 block of West Las Positas Boulevard at 4:58 a.m.  A window was reportedly smashed and wallet, purse and other items worth a total of $280 was missing.
  • A traffic collision was reported on I-580 westbound near Foothill Road at 7:50 a.m.
  • Jeweled Goods Gone in Burglary: A residential burglary was reported on the 3400 block of Torlano Court at 9:06 a.m.  A bedroom window was reportedly open and necklaces, earrings and a ring worth a total of more than $4,000 were missing.
  • A traffic collision was reported at the merge of I-580 eastbound and I-680 northbound at 9:41 a.m.
  • A vehicular burglary was reported on the 5000 block of Hopyard Avenue at 2:30 p.m. A Playstation 3 was reported missing.
  • A traffic collision was reported at the intersection of Springdale Avenue and Maywood Drive at 8:11 p.m.

Monday, Sept. 5

  • A 32-year-old man was arrested at 12:49 a.m. on suspicion of public intoxication.
  • A traffic collision involving an overturned vehicle was reported at the merge of I-580 westbound and I-680 southbound at 10:58 a.m.
  • A traffic collision involving a motorcycle was reported on the 11500 block of Dublin Canyon Road at 4:23 p.m.
  • A traffic collision involving two vehicles was reported on I-580 westbound near Hopyard Road at 5:13 p.m.
  • A traffic collision involving several vehicles was reported at the merge of I-580 eastbound and I-680 northbound at 6:39 p.m.
