Police and Fire Logs: Cars Burglarized at Middle School; Stolen Checks Found After Freeway Chase

A list of notable incidents from June 13 to June 19.

Pleasanton police received reports of two car burglaries at Pleasanton Middle School on Friday night. 

Other car burglaries included one on Tuesday on Tanglewood Way, in which more than $1,600 in goods was reported stolen. And, Pleasanton police arrested three Oakland men after a freeway chase and found stolen checks in the suspects’ car. For the full story, click .

The Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department responded to a report of garbage cans that had caught fire on Hansen Drive on Sunday night.

Monday, June 13

  • Theft was reported on the 4700 block of Willow Road at 24-Hour Fitness at 1:34 a.m.
  • Residential burglary was reported on the 3800 block of Vineyard Avenue at 5:39 a.m.
  • An 18-year-old woman was arrested at 10:45 a.m. on charges of domestic violence.
  • Theft was reported on the 3200 block of Vineyard Avenue at 4:26 p.m.
  • Shoplifting was reported on the 1000 block of Stoneridge Mall Road at Sunglass Hut at 7:44 p.m.
  • A 37-year-old man was arrested at 9:32 p.m. on a charge of public intoxication.

Tuesday, June 14

  • Vehicular burglary was reported on the 1800 block of Tanglewood Way at 8:21 a.m.  Computer equipment, clothing and a gift card worth more than $1,600 was reported stolen.
  • A 21-year-old man was arrested at 9:08 a.m. on a warrant-related charge.
  • An 18-year-old man was arrested at 8:15 p.m. on a warrant-related charge.

Wednesday, June 15

  • Petty theft was reported on the 1500 block of Stoneridge Mall Road at 2:41 p.m.
  • A 35-year-old man was arrested at 6:15 p.m. on a warrant-related charge.
  • Vehicular burglary was reported on the 7000 block of Johnson Drive at 6:51 p.m.

Thursday, June 16

  • Trio arrested after freeway pursuit: Pleasanton police arrested three Oakland men on suspicion of stealing mail from a mailbox.  After pursuing the suspects, police found stolen checks in their vehicle. For more, read .
  • Vandalism was reported on the 6100 block of Stoneridge Mall Road at 10:58 a.m.
  • Commercial burglary was reported on the 2300 block of Santa Rita Road at Quest Diagnostics at 2:17 p.m.  It appeared that a pry tool was used.

Friday, June 17

  • A 25-year-old man was arrested at 12:54 a.m. on a charge of driving under the influence.
  • A 33-year-old man was arrested at 1:09 a.m. on a charge of public intoxication.
  • Two cars burglarized at middle school:  Two vehicular burglaries were reported on the 5000 block of Case Avenue at Pleasanton Middle School at 9:55 p.m.  In one burglary, a window was smashed and a laptop worth $800 was reported stolen.  A window also was smashed in the other incident, and clothing and cash worth more than $80 were reported stolen.

Saturday, June 18

  • A 22-year-old man was arrested at 3:13 a.m. on a charge of driving under the influence.
  • A traffic collision was reported at the merge of I-580 westbound and I-680 southbound at 10:17 a.m.
  • A traffic collision was reported on the 4100 block of Vineyard Avenue at 1:34 p.m.
  • A traffic collision involving a Harley Davidson motorcycle and Toyota Prius was reported at the merge of I-580 eastbound and I-680 northbound at 6:35 p.m.
  • Fraud was reported on the 1300 block of Stoneridge Mall Road at 6:59 p.m.
  • A 51-year-old man was arrested at 10:26 p.m. on a charge of driving under the influence.

Sunday, June 19

  • A 22-year-old man was arrested at 12:15 a.m. on a charge of driving under the influence.
  • Vehicular burglary was reported on the 5800 block of Las Positas Boulevard at 4:20 p.m.  A window was smashed and a GPS unit and cash worth more than $350 was reported stolen.
  • A barbecue fire was reported on the 3500 block of Rocca Court at 6:31 p.m.  Flames were near a propane tank but subsided.
  • Garbage cans next to a home were reported on fire on the 5800 block of Hansen Drive at 10:40 p.m. Firefighters responded.
