Police and Fire Logs: Dozens of Gift Cards Stolen; Pleasanton Man Robbed in Fast Food Lot

A list of notable incidents from July 18 to July 24.

Last week, several car burglaries were reported, including two on Canyon Meadows Circle on Sunday morning in which car windows were smashed. 

On July 19, a Pleasanton man was on East Stanley Boulevard. Livermore police are investigating the incident.

On Wednesday, police dealt with the embezzlement of gift cards worth thousands of dollars at HPM Networks.

Also, the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department handled a small fire Wednesday near a home on Turnstone Drive with the help of neighbors. Firefighters also had dealt with a small grass fire near a construction zone on I-680 northbound on July 19.

Monday, July 18

  • Vehicular burglary was reported at Residence Inn on the 11900 block of Dublin Canyon Road at 7:59 a.m. A pry tool was used on a car door.
  • A 1980 white-and-orange Chevy 20 van was reported stolen from Alameda County Fairgrounds on the 4500 block of Pleasanton Avenue at 9:30 a.m.

Tuesday, July 19

  • A traffic collision involving two vehicles was reported at the merge of I-580 eastbound and I-680 southbound at 8:11 a.m.
  • A collision was reported in a Chase Bank parking lot on the 5800 block of Stoneridge Mall Road at 12:30 p.m.
  • A grass fire was reported on I-680 northbound near Bernal Avenue at 4:23 p.m. Drivers reported a fire near a construction zone.
  • Man robbed in parking lot: A Pleasanton man was robbed of his wallet and cell phone in the parking lot of Carl’s Jr. on East Stanley Boulevard about 6:20 p.m. For more, read .
  • A collision involving a head-on crash of two vehicles was reported at the intersection of Stoneridge Drive and Santa Rita Road at 10:17 p.m.

Wednesday, July 20

  • Arrest made after crash: A collision was reported on I-580 westbound about 2 a.m.  A 20-year-old man who suffered major injuries was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. For more, read .
  • Thousands in gift cards stolen:  Embezzlement was reported at HPM Networks on the 6700 block of Koll Center Parkway at 9:05 a.m. Dozens of American Express and Visa gift cards worth $3,750 were reported stolen.
  • Commercial burglary was reported at the offices of Forrest Smith M.D. on the 1300 block of Santa Rita Road at 10 a.m.
  • A fire was reported at the side of a home on the 2700 block of Turnstone Drive at 10:16 a.m. Neighbors said they saw a fire near a garage door of a home and extinguished it with a hose.
  • A collision involving a motorcycle was reported on I-580 westbound near Tassajara Road at 5:33 p.m.

Thursday, July 21

  • A 2000 two-door blue Honda Civic was reported stolen from the 5400 block of Black Avenue at 7:40 a.m.
  • Theft was reported on the 2400 block of Pomino Way at 11:31 a.m.
  • A collision involving a pedestrian was reported on the 1700 block of Santa Rita Road at 11:56 a.m.
  • A collision involving a motorcycle was reported at the intersection of Vallecitos Road and Isabel Avenue at 2:27 p.m.
  • A collision was reported on I-580 eastbound near Hopyard Road at 11:59 p.m.

Friday, July 22

  • A collision involving three vehicles was reported at the intersection of Rosewood Drive and Santa Rita Road at 2:26 p.m.
  • A collision was reported at the intersection of Owens Court and Owens Drive at 5:16 p.m.

Saturday, July 23

  • A 29-year-old man was arrested at 12:58 a.m. on a charge of public intoxication.
  • An 18-year-old man was arrested at 2:23 a.m. on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • Vandalism was reported at the intersection of Neal and Second streets at 1:32 p.m.

Sunday, July 24

  • A 21-year-old man was arrested at 2:40 a.m. on a charge of driving under the influence.
  • Windows smashed in car burglaries: Two vehicular burglaries were reported on the 7700 block of Canyon Meadows Circle at 7:37 a.m. In both, windows were smashed.
  • Petty theft was reported on the 1200 block of Greenwood Road at 11:19 a.m.
  • Vandalism was reported at the intersection of Neal and Second streets at 6:33 p.m.
