Police and Fire Logs: Emerald Ring Stolen from Via Del Cielo Home

A list of notable incidents from Aug. 8 to Aug. 14.

The most significant burglary Pleasanton Police reported last week involved the theft of jewelry from a home on the 5900 block of Via Del Cielo. 

Among the stolen items was a custom emerald ring worth $5,000.  Another residential burglary was reported the following day on Ruby Hill Drive; police said a computer hard drive was stolen.

Police also reported arrests for public intoxication and driving under the influence over the weekend.

  • Battery was reported on the 4100 block of Vineyard Avenue at 12:38 a.m.
  • A 48-year-old man was arrested at 2:13 a.m. on warrant-related charges.
  • Petty theft was reported on the 7300 block of Joshua Circle at 4 p.m.

Tuesday, Aug. 9

  • A 21-year-old man was arrested at 10:37 a.m. on charges of possession of a controlled substance.
  • A traffic collision involving a fire hydrant was reported at the intersection of Bernal Avenue and Old Bernal Avenue at 12:49 p.m.
  • A traffic collision involving a bicycle was reported at the intersection of Santa Rita Road and Pimlico Drive at 1:28 p.m.
  • Petty theft was reported on the 1000 block of Stoneridge Mall Road at 4:15 p.m.

Wednesday, Aug. 10

  • A traffic collision involving four vehicles was reported on I-680 southbound near Bernal Avenue at 11:45 a.m.
  • A vehicle fire was reported on I-680 nouthbound near Bernal Avenue at 12:53 p.m.
  • Emerald Ring Stolen:  Residential burglary was reported on the 5900 block of Via Del Cielo at 3:18 p.m. Gold earrings, a gold pendant and custom emerald ring, all worth a total of $5,450, were reported stolen.

Thursday, Aug. 11

  • A traffic collision was reported on I-580 westbound near Tassajara Road at 10:57 a.m.
  • Residential burglary was reported on the 4300 block of Ruby Hill Drive at 3:44 p.m. Computer equipment worth $100 was reported stolen.
  • A 65-year-old man was arrested at 9:19 p.m. on charges of driving under the influence.
  • A 29-year-old woman was arrested at 11:09 p.m. on charges of driving under the influence.

Friday, Aug. 12

  • A 60-year-old man was arrested at 12:16 a.m. on charges of driving under the influence.
  • A traffic collision was reported at the intersection of Santa Rita Road and Old Santa Rita Road at 1:16 p.m.
  • Vegetation fire was reported on I-580 eastbound near the Hacienda Drive overpass at 3:32 p.m.
  • A 48-year-old woman was arrested at 7:38 p.m. on charges of petty theft.

Saturday, Aug. 13

  • A 27-year-old man was arrested at 3:29 a.m. on charges of  being under the influence of a controlled substance.
  • A traffic collision was reported at the merge of I-580 eastbound and I-680 northbound at 7:01 p.m.
  • A 58-year-old woman was arrested at 6:01 p.m. on charges of public intoxication.

Sunday, Aug. 14

  • A 22-year-old woman was arrested at 12:33 a.m. on charges of public intoxication.
  • A 24-year-old man was arrested at 1:02 a.m. on charges of driving under the influence.
  • Building Hit by Car:  A traffic collision involving a vehicle striking a building on the 2700 block of Hopyard Road was reported at 7:02 p.m.
