Police and Fire Logs: HD Televisions, U-Haul Gone in Thefts

A list of notable incidents from July 5 to July 11.

Last week, police handled thefts at CH Robinson Worldwide, Auntie Annie Pretzels and Clubsport, and firefighters answered reports of fires at Macy’s and Carr America.

Tuesday, July 5

  • Residential burglary was reported on the 8000 block of Canyon Creek Circle at 11:49 a.m.  A pry tool was used on a sliding door and several laptops, an iPod and cash worth more than $2,000 were reported stolen.
  • Theft was reported at CH Robinson Worldwide on the 5600 block of Stoneridge Drive at 3:39 p.m. Two high-definition television sets worth $1,500 were reported stolen.

Wednesday, July 6

  • A collision involving four vehicles was reported on I-680 northbound near Stoneridge Drive at 1:40 p.m.
  • A collision involving a big rig was reported at the merge of I-580 eastbound and I-680 northbound at 4:11 p.m.
  • Vehicular burglary was reported at Pleasanton Middle School on the 5000 block of Case Avenue at 10:37 p.m. A rear window was smashed and baby items and sunglasses worth a total of $80 were reported stolen.

Thursday, July 7

  • An orange and white 1997 Ford U-Haul E350 was reported stolen from the 7500 block of Canyon Meadow Circle at 8 a.m.
  • A dumpster fire was reported on the 3800 block of Vineyard Avenue at 5:36 p.m.
  • A planter was smoking at Wal-Mart on the 4500 block of Rosewood Drive at 5:52 p.m. but the fire was put out by an employee.
  • A 21-year-old man was arrested at 8:41 p.m. on a charge of being under the influence of a controlled substance.

Friday, July 8

  • A vehicle fire was reported at Carr America on the 4400 block of Rosewood Drive at 3:38 p.m.
  • A collision involving a motorcycle was reported on I-580 eastbound near Foothill Road at 4:04 p.m.
  • A 59-year-old woman was arrested at 5:28 p.m. on a charge of petty theft.
  • A collision involving two vehicles was reported at the intersection of Stoneridge and Johnson drives at 7:04 p.m.

Saturday, July 9

  • A 24-year-old man was arrested at 1:52 a.m. on a charge of driving under the influence.
  • Theft was reported at Auntie Annie Pretzels on the 1200 block of Stoneridge Mall Road at 10:41 a.m.
  • A collision involving two vehicles was reported at the intersection of Santa Rita Road and Rosewood Drive at 6:13 p.m.
  • A collision involving two vehicles was reported on I-680 northbound near Stoneridge Drive at 7:51 p.m.

Sunday, July 10

  • A collision involving a motorcycle was reported on I-680 southbound near Stoneridge Drive at 3:21 p.m.
  • Vehicular burglary was reported at Clubsport on the 7000 block of Johnson Drive at 5:29 p.m. A car window was smashed and a PDA, wallet, purse, cash and personal documents worth more than $800 were reported stolen.
  • A 40-year-old woman was arrested at 7:58 p.m. on a charge of domestic violence.
  • A collision was reported at the Alameda County Fair on the 4500 block of Pleasanton Avenue at 8:37 p.m.

Monday, July 11

  • Firefighters were called to the women’s department at Macy’s on the 1300 block of Stoneridge Mall Road at 12:27 a.m. after sprinklers were activated. Significant water damage from the sprinklers was reported on two floors but firefighters found no sign of a fire.
  • A collision involving a car and bicycle was reported at the intersection of Del Valle Parkway and Hopyard Road at 7:48 a.m.
