Police and Fire Logs: Pricey Jewels, Watch, Ammo Gone in Burglaries, Thefts

A list of notable incidents from Aug. 15 to Aug. 21.

Last Friday saw the theft of several costly jewels from a Riviera Court home; the valuables were estimated to be worth more than $20,000.  The previous day, a home on Moreno Avenue was burglarized, with jewelry, a watch and ammunition among the stolen items.  The week before, on Aug. 10, pricey jewelry was reported stolen from a home on Via Del Cielo.

Also, firefighters from the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department fought a reservoir blaze on Thursday night.

Monday, Aug. 15

  • Theft was reported on the 3900 block of Rockingham Drive at 11:08 a.m.
  • A traffic collision involving two vehicles was reported at the intersection of Santa Rita Road and Rosewood Drive at 1:03 p.m.
  • A traffic collision involving a bicycle was reported at the intersection of Stoneridge Drive at Johnson Drive at 3 p.m.

Tuesday, Aug. 16

  • Vehicular burglary was reported on Old Vineyard Avenue at 9:16 a.m.
  • Shoplifting was reported on the 4500 block of Rosewood Drive at 10:54 a.m.
  • A grass fire was reported on the 1100 block of Piemonte Drive at 1:09 p.m.
  • A traffic collision was reported at the intersection of Valley Avenue and Paseo Santa Cruz at 6:23 p.m.
  • A 33-year-old man was arrested at 7:30 p.m. on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance.

Wednesday, Aug. 17

  • Petty theft was reported on the 4700 block of Willow Road at 10:46 a.m.
  • Vehicular burglary was reported at Four Points Hotel on the 5100 block of Hopyard Road at 10:48 p.m. A GPS unit, cash and sunglasses worth a total of more than $550 were reported stolen.

Thursday, Aug. 18

  • A 24-year-old woman was arrested at 12:43 a.m. on warrant-related charges.
  • A traffic collision involving two vehicles was reported at the merge of I-580 eastbound and I-680 southbound at 8:35 a.m.
  • A traffic collision was reported at the intersection of Old Bernal Avenue and Peters Avenue at 1:39 p.m.
  • Residential burglary was reported on the 2900 block of Moreno Avenue at 9:49 p.m. Coins, an Anne Klein women’s watch, a 10-inch Tiffany silver necklace and ammunition worth a total of $650 were reported stolen.
  • Firefighters Put Out Reservoir Blaze: Several residents reported seeing flames from a vegetation fire near the intersection of Mohr Avenue and Irongate Drive. For more, visit .

Friday, Aug. 19

  • A 36-year-old man was arrested at 12:17 a.m. on suspicion of driving under the influence.
  • Theft was reported on the 300 block of Lone Oak Court at 11:54 a.m.
  • Pricey Jewelry Stolen: Theft was reported on the 7900 block of Riviera Court at 10:14 p.m. Women’s jewelry, including a diamond ring with “XO” inscription valued at more than $18,000, a 14-karat anniversary ring valued at $1,100 and one set of emerald stud earrings valued at $1,000 were reported stolen.  Credit cards were also reported missing.

Saturday, Aug. 20

  • A blue 1992 four-door Honda Accord was reported stolen from the 5500 block of Springhouse Drive at 9:13 a.m.
  • A traffic collision was reported at the intersection of Stoneridge Drive and Hopyard Road at 10:54 a.m.
  • Theft was reported at Wal-Mart on the 4500 block of Rosewood Drive at 2:31 p.m.
  • Theft was reported on the 1500 block of Stoneridge Mall Road at 4:35 p.m.

Sunday, Aug. 21

  • Petty theft was reported on the 3800 block of Vine Street at 3:01 a.m.
  • A 20-year-old man was arrested at 12:56 p.m. on suspicion of public intoxication.
  • A 30-year-old woman was arrested at 5:23 p.m. on suspicion of public intoxication.
