Police and Fire Logs: String of Car Burglaries Hit Inn; Jewelry Worth $10K Nabbed in Home Burglary

A list of notable incidents from April 11 to April 17.

This week's round-up of recent crimes around Pleasanton includes a car burglary spree at a local hotel, an attic fire and a jewelry theft, according to the Pleasanton Police log.

The burglaries took place Saturday on the 11900 block of Dublin Canyon Road at .  The windows of four cars were smashed, police reported.  

On April 12, a theft at Webster Orthopedics was reported, and jewelry worth more than $10,000 was missing.  Also, the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department responded to an attic fire in a home on Mission Drive on Thursday.

Monday, April 11

  • Vehicular burglary was reported on the 5300 block of Case Avenue at 8:52 a.m.  A car window was smashed and cigarettes worth $5 were reported missing.
  • Vandalism was reported on the 300 block of Main Street at 11:47 a.m.
  • A 51-year-old man was arrested at 7:44 p.m on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and forgery.
  • A 62-year-old man was arrested at 7:51 p.m. on warrant-related charges.

 Tuesday, April 12

  • Theft was reported on the 5500 block of Las Positas Boulevard at Webster Orthopedics at 9:42 a.m.  Jewelry worth more than $10,000, including a wedding ring set, was reported stolen.
  • Theft was reported on the 1400 block of Stoneridge Mall Road at Macy’s at 10:02 a.m.  One hundred Hugo T-shirts in various colors and sizes worth more than $5,000 were reported stolen.
  • Residential burglary was reported on the 1700 block of Laguna Creek at 11:18 a.m.  A bedroom window was reportedly opened with a pry tool but nothing was reported missing.
  • A 39-year-old man was arrested at 3:47 p.m. on a charge of possession of a controlled substance.
  • A 46-year-old man was arrested at 4:41 p.m. on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance.
  • A 52-year-old man was arrested at 7:18 p.m. on a charge of driving under the influence.

Wednesday, April 13

  • A 27-year-old man was arrested at 12:45 a.m.  on a charge of public intoxication.
  • A traffic collision involving a gold Altima striking a center divide was reported on I-680 northbound near Bernal Avenue at 8:24 a.m. 
  • Vandalism was reported on the 4300 block of Valley Avenue at 11:23 a.m.
  • A traffic collision involving a vehicle striking the back of a tow truck was reported at the merge of I-580 westbound and I-680 southbound at 1:52 p.m.
  • A traffic collision was reported on I-580 westbound near Foothill Road at 2:06 p.m.
  • A 19-year-old man was arrested at 6:23 p.m. on a charge publicly lewd behavior.
  • Theft of personal information was reported on the 2900 block of Liberty Drive at 6:43 p.m.

Thursday, April 14

  • An attic fire was reported on the 300 block of Mission Drive at 7:16 a.m.  Strong smells of smoke were reported from the home and an alarm was sounding from the attic.
  • A 41-year-old man was arrested at 4:02 a.m. on a charge of being under the influence of a controlled substance.
  • Vandalism was reported on the 400 block of Matthews Court at 6:36 a.m.
  • A 39-year-old man was arrested at 8:36 a.m. on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • A 42-year-old man was arrested at 4:46 p.m.  on a charge of possession of a controlled substance.

Friday, April 15

  • Vehicular burglary was reported on the 4900 block of Pleasanton Avenue at 5:24 a.m.  Missing stereo equipment and damage to the interior worth $750 was reported.
  • A 51-year-old man was arrested at 4:32 p.m. on a petty theft charge.
  • Vehicular burglary was reported on the 3100 block of Chardonnay Drive at 4:58 p.m.
  • Vehicular burglary was reported on the 3600 block of Andrews Drive at 7:29 p.m.
  • A 59-year-old man was arrested at 11:42 p.m. on a public intoxication charge.

Saturday, April 16

  • A 43-year-old man was arrested at 12:56 a.m. on a charge of driving under the influence.
  • A 22-year-old man was arrested at 1:19 a.m. on a charge of driving under the influence.
  • A 22-year-old man was arrested at 1:42 a.m.  on a charge of driving under the influence.
  • A 30-year-old man was arrested at 2:20 a.m. on a charge of public intoxication.
  • A 45-year-old man was arrested at 2:36 a.m. on a charge of public intoxication.
  • A 44-year-old woman was arrested at 3:23 a.m. on a charge of driving under the influence.
  • String of Car Burglaries Reported: Four vehicular burglaries were reported on the 11900 block of Dublin Canyon Road at Residence Inn throughout the morning, all in which car windows were smashed and valuables taken.  At 6:22 a.m., the first was reported in which a car window was smashed and a ham radio worth $250 was stolen.  The next was reported at 9:43 a.m. and electronic and gym equipment worth more than $75 was reported stolen.  Another was reported at 10:32 a.m. in which a GPS unit worth $250 was reported stolen.  The last reported that day was at 11:56 a.m., when 100 compact discs of various artists worth $1,500 was reported stolen.
  • Theft was reported on the 4100 block of Peregrine Way at 1:35 p.m.
  • A black 1994 two-door Honda Civic was reported stolen from the 1000 block of Stoneridge Mall Road at 6:56 p.m.

Sunday, April 17

  • A 33-year-old man was arrested at 12:40 a.m. on a charge of driving under the influence.
  • Theft was reported on the 4200 block of Bevilacqua Court at 2:38 p.m.  More than $900 in cash was reported stolen.
  • A 29-year-old man was arrested at 6:52 p.m. on a charge of possession of a controlled substance.
  • Vehicular burglary was reported on the 4100 block of Trieste Way at 7:01 p.m.  Stereo and sports equipment worth more than $400 was reported stolen.
