Police and Fire Logs: Windows Smashed in Early-Week Car Burglaries

A list of notable incidents from Sept. 12 to Sept. 19.

Pleasanton Police dealt with several car burglaries during the early part of last week, including three car burglaries that were reported on Monday. 

Two of those burglaries were reported on the Willow Road and involved smashed windows.

Over the weekend, volunteer searchers and investigators converged on an area of dry brush south of Pleasanton, where human remains were discovered believed to be missing nursing student Michelle Le. 

Also over the weekend, a Pleasanton man was found dead Saturday in his truck, which had crashed into a fence in Dublin.

Last Thursday, two teens were hospitalized after they were found in front of Village High and the Pleasanton Unified School District offices with stab wounds. A 16-year-old Village High School student suspected in the stabbing was arrested.

Sunday, Sept. 18

  • A 42-year-old man was arrested at 10:20 a.m. on a warrant.
  • Vandalism was reported on the 1300 block of Hopyard Road at 11:06 a.m.
  • A traffic collision involving two vehicles was reported at the intersection of West Las Positas Boulevard and Muirwood Drive at 4:58 p.m.

Saturday, Sept. 17

  • Searchers Find Remains in Brush South of Pleasanton:  Search parties found what is believed to be the remains of Michelle Le in an area of dry brush south of Pleasanton. The remains have not been identified pending a coroner’s report.  For more read .
  • Pleasanton Man Found Dead in Truck: A Pleasanton man was found dead in his truck that had crashed in Dublin Saturday evening, but the exact cause of death is not known.  For more read .
  • Theft was reported on the 4300 block of Valley Avenue at 1:39 a.m.
  • A 29-year-old man was arrested at 5:41 p.m. on a warrant.
  • A car fire was reported on I-680 southbound near Sunol Boulevard at 6:42 p.m.
  • A traffic collision involving an overturned vehicle was reported on I-680 southbound near Sunol Boulevard at 6:49 p.m.
  • A 28-year-old man was arrested at 8:25 p.m. on a warrant.

Friday, Sept. 16

  • A 29-year-old man was arrested at 12:20 a.m. on suspicion of driving under the influence.
  • A 20-year-old woman was arrested at 2:13 a.m. on suspicion of spousal abuse.
  • A traffic collision was reported on the 11900 block of Dublin Canyon Road at 3:13 a.m.
  • A car fire was reported on I-680 southbound near Bernal Avenue at 3:13 p.m.
  • A car fire was reported on I-680 northbound near Castlewood Drive at 6:53 p.m.
  • A 28-year-old man was arrested at 11:54 p.m. on suspicion of spousal abuse, battery and false imprisonment.

Thursday, Sept. 15                            

  • Two Students Hospitalized After Suspected Stabbing:  A 16-year-old Village High School student was arrested Thursday afternoon, suspected of stabbing two other teens who were found lying on the ground around 2:15 p.m. on the 4700 block of First Street, in front of Village High and the Pleasanton Unified School District offices.   • Vandalism was reported on the 3500 block of Vineyard Avenue at 7:40 a.m.
  • A large amount of smoke was reportedly coming from vents in a home on the 900 block of Montevino Drive at 2:42 p.m.  Firefighters found no fire in the home but a lot of smoke in the garage.
  • A traffic collision involving two vehicles was reported at the intersection of Willow Road and Stoneridge Drive at 3 p.m.
  • A traffic collision was reported on the 600 block of Main Street at 3:09 p.m.

Wednesday, Sept. 14

  • Vehicular burglary was reported on the 5000 block of Glenwood Court at 9:19 a.m.
  • Vehicular burglary was reported on the 1900 block of Brooktree Way at 12:33 p.m.
  • A 43-year-old man was arrested at 2:58 p.m. on suspicion of public intoxication.
  • A traffic collision involving a car striking a hydrant was reported at the intersection of Paseo Santa Cruz and Valley Avenue at 6:39 p.m.

Tuesday, Sept. 13

  • A 22-year-old man was arrested at 5:38 a.m. on suspicion of public intoxication.
  • Vehicular burglary was reported at Marriott on the 11900 block of Dublin Canyon Road at 7:51 a.m.  A car window was reportedly smashed.
  • A traffic collision was reported on I-580 westbound near Hacienda Drive at 10:26 a.m.
  • A car fire was reported I-580 westbound near Hopyard Road at 11:59 a.m.
  • A traffic collision involving two vehicles was reported on I-580 westbound near Hopyard Road at 10:59 p.m.

Monday, Sept. 12

  • Theft was reported at Saba International on the 5900 block of Stoneridge Drive at 7:35 a.m.
  • A traffic collision was reported at the intersection of Foothill Road and Stoneridge Drive at 8:48 a.m.
  • Theft was reported at Diversified Mortgage on the 5100 block of Johnson Drive at 9:13 a.m.
  • Vehicular burglary was reported at Clubsport on the 7000 block of Johnson Drive at 11:26 a.m.
  • A 20-year-old woman was arrested at 3:55 p.m. on suspicion of shoplifting.
  • A trash bin next to a pool cabana was reportedly on fire at Archstone Hacienda on the 5700 block of Owens Drive at 3:59 p.m.
  • An oven was reportedly smoking on the 5300 block of Springdale Avenue at 7:04 p.m.  A small fire was seen in oven and the residence was evacuated.
  • Two Willow Road Car Burglaries Reported:  Two vehicular burglaries involving smashed windows were reported at about 11:30 p.m.  One was reported on the 4700 block of Willow Road at 11:31 p.m. and the other was reported at 11:33 p.m. at 24-Hour Fitness on the same block.
