Police Log: Mulligans No More For One Thief; Others Target Unlocked Cars

Notable incidents encountered March 25 to 31.

A man managed to reportedly shoplift nearly $900 of very desirable golf clubs last week, according to the Pleasanton Police Department.

A $400 TaylorMade R11 driver and $460 of TaylorMade R11 fairway woods were swiped March 25 from the Golfsmith store on Rosewood Drive at 2:35 p.m., reports show.

This theft could leave golf aficionados crying, "Fore!" as the red, black and white R11s -- slick and pricey  -- are a coveted favorite, even by pros.

The suspect, described only as a male, entered and exited through the shop's front door during business hours, police reports state.

Other thieves, meanwhile, apparently found easy-pickings, hitting several unlocked vehicles last week in the Vineyard Avenue and Valley View Elementary School area.
