Police Log: Break-Ins Boom -- Homes, Big-O, Main St. Shop

Notable incidents encountered Sept. 9 to 15.

Pleasanton racked up more burglaries last week including break-ins at a Main Street retailer and a Washington Street automotive center.

Sometime between 4 p.m. and 10 p.m. Saturday, a brick or rock was used to smash the front door at Big-O Tires, according to the Pleasanton Police Department.

A $500 Vizio flat-screen television was reportedly taken, files state.

In a separate incident at Girlfriends & Co. on the 500 block of Main Street, a pry tool was reportedly used to break open the shop's front door sometime between 6 p.m. Sept. 10 and Wednesday morning, reports show.

No details on any missing merchandise were available.

The recent rash of burglaries, bike thefts and car break-ins is not unique to Pleasanton, as similar reports are filed in neighboring Livermore and Dublin.
