Police Log: Dumped Body, Fire, Pot At School (Twice), Illegal Fireworks, Now Possible Rape and Robbery

Notable incidents encountered May 20 to 26.

Quite a week for Pleasanton PD.

Along with routine arrests for impaired driving, drugs and assaults, the also fielded two suspected cases of school kids with marijuana, a man carrying fireworks and a switchblade, a near downtown, and the remains of an unidentified female, a likely homicide victim, on Dublin Canyon Road.

Closing out the week, an individual reported to authorities on Friday a possible case of robbery, rape, false imprisonment and lewd acts with a minor, according to police records.

No further details were available as the investigation is newly launched and no suspects are arrested.  

In other news, managers of the Hopyard Road consignment shop called police May 22 around 5:30 p.m. alleging a shopper stole an employee's belongings.

Hoping to crack the case with the public's help, the store posted on its Facebook page two security-camera images of the possible suspect.  

Saturday, May 26

  • A 21-year-old man was arrested at 8:09 p.m. along 4500 Rosewood Drive for suspected theft with previous convictions.
  • Warrant arrest made at 1:45 a.m. along 6700 Santa Rita Road.
  • Vandalism and car break-in logged 2:22 p.m. on 8000 Mountain View Drive, with the vehicle's window reportedly smashed.
  • Another car break-in filed 3:35 p.m on 1000 Stoneridge Mall Road.
  • Thefts logged 5:39 p.m. and 9:17 p.m. on the 1400 and 1500 blocks of Stoneridge Mall Road.
  • A male, 25, was arrested for suspected driving under the influence at 1:59 a.m. on Gibraltar Drive at Hopyard Road.
  • Battery reported at 7:47 a.m. along 6200 Stoneridge Mall Road.
  • Drug-paraphernalia possession reported at 12:25 p.m. on 5100 Hopyard Road.
  • Brush fire about 5 p.m. off Bernal Avenue.

Friday, May 25

  • A report of suspected robbery, rape, lewd acts with minor and false imprisonment was made at 2:45 a.m. on the 5600 block of Owens Drive.
  • A male, 19, was arrested at 1:46 a.m. along 5100 Hopyard Road for suspected possession of narcotics, drug paraphernalia and solicitation to minors.
  • Property destruction logged 10:59 a.m. on Castledown Road.
  • Theft recorded on 5300 Foothill Road at 6:29 p.m.
  • Vandalism cited on 5500 Springhouse Drive at 8:11 a.m.
  • Damage to city property on the 3600 block of Kamp Drive logged at 2:30 p.m.

Thursday, May 24

  • Possible homicide victim, an unidentified female, about noon on Dublin Canyon Road and Laurel Creek Drive.
  • Stolen vehicle recovered at 8:34 a.m. on 5700 Owens Drive.
  • Marijuana possession cited at 5:35 a.m. along 4700 Harrison Street.
  • Missing-person report filed at 7:26 p.m. along 6300 Stoneridge Mall Road.
  • Vandalism logged at 10 a.m. on Olson Court at Laurel Creek Drive.
  • Alleged violation of protective order recorded at 9 p.m. along 3400 Norton Way.

Wednesday, May 23

  • Two reports made of telephone harrassment: 10:46 a.m. on the 5000 block of Carducci Drive; 2:54 p.m. on 5600 Gibraltar Drive.
  • Phone harrassment and criminal threats reported at 3:34 p.m. on the 1100 block of Santa Rita Road.
  • Burglary logged at 8:39 p.m. on 5600 Springhouse Drive, with the front door reportedly pried open and $1,850 of electronics and video-game gear stolen.
  • Public exposure reported at 1:48 p.m. along 1000 Stoneridge Mall Road.
  • U.S. mail theft recorded at 9:59 a.m. along 3200 Vineyard Avenue.
  • Battery reported at 3:20 p.m. on the 4400 block of Clovewood Lane.
  • A Pleasanton man, 26, was arrested for suspected public intoxication at 6:36 p.m. along 300 Main Street, his second such arrest in two weeks.

Tuesday, May 22

  • Minor suspected of marijuana possession on school grounds at 11:31 a.m. on 4300 Foothill Road.
  • Two reports of U.S. mail theft: 4:12 p.m. on 3600 Old Santa Rita Road; 8 p.m. along 2400 Skylark Way.
  • A Walnut Creek man, 28 was arrested for alleged embezzlement and burglary at 1 p.m. along 2800 Hopyard Road.
  • Grand theft reported at 3 p.m. on the 2900 block of Takens Court.
  • Other theft filings: 9:36 a.m. on 3900 Vineyard Avenue; 10 a.m. on 6000 Stoneridge Drive; 5:29 p.m. on 4500 Hopyard Road.
  • A gray 1998 Saturn vehicle reported stolen at 8:47 a.m. on 4800 Bernal Avenue.
  • Stolen vehicle recovered at 6:10 p.m. on 6300 Stoneridge Mall Road.
  • A Roseville female, 49, was arrested for suspected DUI at 10:49 p.m. on Main and Ray streets.

Monday, May 21

  • Vehicle reported stolen at 3:49 p.m. on 4400 Rosewood Drive.
  • Minor suspected of marijuana possession on school grounds at 10:47 a.m. on 4300 Foothill Road.
  • Residential burglary with K-9 search cited at 3:06 p.m. along 7600 Fairoaks Drive. The home's door was reportedly pried open, and nearly $4,000 of electronics and jewelry taken.
  • Vandalism logged on 3200 Stanley Boulevard at 10:11 a.m.
  • Theft reports filed: 3:30 p.m. on Gray Fox Court and Circle; 5:29 p.m. on 3000 Hopyard Road; 7 p.m. on 5500 San Juan Way; 10:19 p.m. on 2000 Stoneridge Mall Road.
  • Incident of annoying children logged at 7:44 a.m. along 300 Main Street.

Sunday, May 20

  • A Pleasanton man, 21, was arrested for alleged possession of fireworks and a switchblade knife at 11:24 p.m. on Stanley Boulevard at California Avenue.
  • Vandalism logged, 11:13 a.m., on 4800 Bernal Avenue.
  • Vehicle reported stolen at 8:10 a.m. along 3800 Appian Way.
  • A San Ramon woman, 30 was arrested for suspected theft on 4500 Rosewood Drive at 5:12 p.m.
  • Drunk-and-disorderly arrest of a Pleasanton male, 25, made at 8:04 p.m. on the 2100 block of Cascara Court.
  • A Hayward male, 26, was arrested for suspected DUI at 1:23 a.m. on 3800 Hopyard Road.
  • DUI arrest of a Pleasanton man, 65, with prior convictions, made at 7:16 p.m. on Camino Segura at Hansen Drive.
  • Domestic battery reported at 12:03 a.m. along 900 Rose Avenue.
