Police Log: Graffiti Blitz; Costco Stick-Up; Bicyclist Gets 'RUI'

Notable incidents encountered Feb. 10 to 16.

Graffiti vandals struck daily last week -- including four times at Val Vista Park, according to the Pleasanton Police Department.

Val Vista, a popular skateboard and soccer park on the 7300 block of Johnson Drive, was hit Feb. 10, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, with taggers marring the public restrooms, bathroom stalls, park walls, storage areas, a bridge, a cabinet and even the gravel walkways, files state.

Other graffiti incidents logged from all points of town, included such streets as Muirwood and Hearst drives, Bernal Avenue, St. John Circle and Junipero Street. The cases are under investigation.

In other area news last week, a female shopper was reportedly robbed at gunpoint of her handbag in the parking lot at Costco in Livermore. Details here.

Also last week, a Pleasanton man was arrested while bicycling Wednesday near downtown for a suspected "RUI."

Akin to a DUI, riding under the influence is against the law.
