Police Log: Keen Cop Busts Burgling Duo; Lux Cars Swiped From Dealer Lot

Notable incidents encountered Dec. 22 to 29.

The overnight lockbox at a Mercedes-Benz dealer was burglarized last week, leading to thefts of two vehicles left by their owners for servicing, according to the Pleasanton Police Department.

Three car keys were stolen from the drop-box at Mercedes-Benz of Pleasanton, on the 5800 block of Owens Drive, sometime overnight Dec. 25 to Wednesday morning, police said.

One key was to a non-running auto. However, the other two belonged to white, four-door Mercedes-Benz 2000 and 2001 models, which were stolen from the service-department lot, reports state.
